The Albino Luciani Museum (MUSAL)
The Albino Luciani Museum (MUSAL) is located in a 15th century mansion, next to the San Giovanni Battista parish church in Canale d'Agordo, in the Belluno province. The permanent exhibition aims not only to tell the life and teaching of Pope John Paul I but much more. Albino Luciani's true greatness is also revealed through an understanding of the historical and social context in wich he was born and raised: the traditional "Pieve" (parish) of Canale d'Agordo, which let his vocation mature and defined the personality of this universally loved Pope. We hope to let you experience some moments of peace and relief and we wish you a very pleasant stay in the birthplace of Albino Luciani.
The Albino Luciani Museum MUSAL was officially opened August 26, 2016 in Canale d'Agordo (Belluno) at the end of the Mass presided over by His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness Pope Francis, concelebrated by His Excellency Msgr. Renato Marangoni, the diocesan bishop, and by His Excellency Msgr. Giuseppe Andrich, Bishop Emeritus of Belluno-Feltre.
